Been a while
A fond memory, Mega Meet 2013
It has been a few months since I updated this page, thank you for your continues support. I have spent a lot of 2013 outside Australia unfortunately I have priorities outside work that must be ironed out and for the better of my future and LLT-Racing it self. And again I am conducting this update outside Australia and will be back by the end of February for a few months.
Anyways there are a fair bit that happened last year, as you all witnessed we achieved the fastest FWD naturally aspirated mitsubishi in Australia in 2013 with our 4G69 powered mirage. We also got to see a fairly standard SOHC 4G93 powered coupe owned by Daniel proving hard to match by others in the Mitsubishi FWD community all thanks to team work!
In a business point of view 2013 proved to be very consistent and probably the busiest I had ever since joining the industry back in late 2007, a little more than I can handle to be honest! So this year I am looking at other options to manage, store and relocate altogether. I wont elaborate much until all is solid, hopefully the extra resources and investment injected to LLT-Racing will aid me to run this more efficiently. Because I am getting older and I am starting to commit to longer term goals in my life this is going to be my last straw in the industry.
Anyways enough of that bullshit! in this update there are a few additions to the site, including the 4G69 swap which has been 100% completed (mind you this has been through 3 phases not including the race only version) added to the inventory. There are currently five 2.4 swaps in Sydney at the moment, hopefully can attract more interstate customers in 2014. I also improved a lot of the site functions giving you further ease and option when purchasing items from the site, and the cart is now alive finally. Please feel free to go over it and check it out and if you like you can post your comments on our blog.

The real built not bought!
Dan on his first 13 sec run LLT Built 4G93 Mivec
I cannot deny my love for the 4G9X based engines, I have a fair collection of parts for my dream build which one day I will finish. You name it I have it stashed in my room :)
Anyways this build is probably one of my favourites, some say it is nothing special because its a 4G93 block but little do they know it has a super rare 4G92 Mivec head, and some goodies inside the block. Now it is a favourite because not only Daniel was around during the process of the build but he also helped during its construction, and always willing to learn at all times, which no offence this generation lacks! people these days are a getting very lazy and lacking hands on experience on anything really. My second reason being is its a pure ADM local 1.8 block standard bore, cast 4G92 HC pistons, and standard 1.8 rods but of course we spiced it up by playing around with a few engine tolerances to free up some power. But still it is a 1.8 its not a typical ooooohh ill drop a v6 mivec in or ill boost my 1.5, 1.8 or even a 2.4l engine its pure NA brute power. He actually has the right to say "built not bought" its not just another drop in engine, blood sweat and tears went through this build.
After seeing Daniel spent a lot time on this car trying to get rid of the teething issues he had with the management system among other little things. Trying to get familiar and establish a connection between him and this new set up of course is all unfamiliar ground (a high compression engine is not as easy to tune than people think) tuning day and night under diffrent conditions at the same time communicating with me with its progress and results. I am not surprised he will achieved a good run on its first outing in Sydneys finest WSID venue. That night humid I was told, he ran a lot of low 14's consistently. After making a few adjustments on tire pressure and cleaned up the tune he achieved his goal for the night and got a 13.919, the time slip I believe is somewhere in our facebook page.
Congratulations Dan and surely you can go faster with your new added mods you installed after your first run! Another good example of using the right combination of parts and actually knowing how to drive the car, this is an essential ingredient to the recipe of success.

Closer to the agenda
We have announced in early July that we will be participating in the NSW Drag racing championship for the remaining of the 2013 season, our targer was to get into round 5, 13th of July event and see how we fare among New South Wales best. For this event three of the boys went Ivan, Daniel and Brad unfortunately I was unable to attend due to personal commitments this July.
The morning started pretty ordinary and was advised that our first run was a 13.7 sec, which we all expected anyway considering the car and driver combination has been punching out consistent numbers in all of its run's in the past. However Ivan did report that the track conditions have changed since we ran couple of weeks ago, to be honest when I was told about this I had mixed feelings. A sudden change of condition can either go towards our favour or vice versa, it really depends on how quick the drivers adoptability towards change that will enable to give you an edge over the other competition, which is exactly what Ivan delivered.
Our last run a couple of weeks ago we achieved another personal best of 13.61 which is a pretty consistent improvement from our last outing (13.685) with the mirage sporting the previous set up during Jamboree 2013. We were able to back it up with a faster personal best of 13.40 sec consistently and better yet we were able to make it to the final and *cough* pardon me! we won our class. Yes first place! Everything that day went in our favour driver, car set up, supporting crew all this is the best ingredients of a winning team. Thank you once again Ivan for fantastic drive! Keep that motivation to spear into the 11's! Daniel for having input in all aspects of our activities and our new brother Brad! welcome to the crew buddy.

Loyalty to the SOHC 4G93
Months ago one of our crew members Daniel proved that the OEM 4G93 SOHC has a lot of potential. As all of you are now aware Daniel has a stock 4G93 block (as in standard bore unopened buttom end) running on our very own slightly modified head and a stage 1.5 cam shaft. Fine tuned with a reflashed ECU with a MAF delete mod re-mapped by Daniel him self.
On its first outing on its new gearbox this animal consistently ran in the high 14's with a best run of 14.85 seconds! Thats an awesome time specially in this trim. Just on the 3rd of July we took this lancer out for a second run this time around with new components revised header and intake manifold the tune used remainds the same. The new components proved to have lowered the time further to a 14.8 flat! not to bad however it was hindered by tyre selection in my opinion. We do plan to run it a second time around with the right tyres and a revised tune, still take it or leave it its still the fastest 4G93 SOHC in Australia ;) this one here surely is one of my favourites. Congratulations once again to all the efforts Dan!

New Face New Goals
Since Jamboree 2013 we have made changes to the car set up, of course ultimately aiming for new goals. As you may witness visually you can see we have lowered the car using our coilover kit, rota slipstreams 15inch +25 offset wrapped on firenza 195/50/15 tyres, front bushings have been subsituted for poly urathane variants, semi stripped interior to reduce over all weight of vehicle and a fixed bucket seat to add stability to the driver. It may be minor for some however in racing every little bit you do will provide an edge over the competition.
Ivan brought this new set up to our local play pen WSID race for real night, before the car weighed well over a ton, this time around it was bearing in the 870ish KG mark which is pretty damn good for a mirage. That night Ivan was able to better his personal best of 13.685 lowering it further to 13.61 seconds which is a fair improvement! There is a lot to learn from the new set up, the changes above will drastically change suspension dynamics on launching etc..
Never the less congratulations on the new PB Ivan!
