LLT-Racing Blog - Manila Reflections

Welcome to the LLT-Racing Blog

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by the LLT-Racing Blog. This is where we share everything from late-night workshop stories to track-day triumphs, and maybe even a few struggles (because let’s face it, not every build goes as planned!). We’re all about Honda and Mitsubishi performance, and this blog is our way of bringing you along for the ride. Whether it’s breaking records, testing out wild ideas, or just reflecting on what it means to be a car enthusiast, this is the space where we keep it real. Think of this as a behind-the-scenes look at LLT-Racing—where the cars are fast, the passion runs deep, and there’s always something exciting happening. So, grab a coffee (or a beer, we won’t judge), sit back, and enjoy some stories from our corner of the automotive world. We’re stoked to have you here—welcome to the family!

Makati Avenue

Philippines: vibrant, lively, and a world away from the quiet pace of Sydney. My partner and I find ourselves amidst the buzz, enjoying local beers and novelty drinks at unbeatable prices—just $1.50 AUD! Add a couple more dollars, and you can feast on your choice of food, from authentic Filipino dishes to international cuisines.

Makati Avenue at night

As we sit and observe, the streets come alive with exotic, modified cars cruising through the slow-moving traffic. It’s Friday night in Manila, and somewhere out there, you can feel the excitement of street racing. Despite the challenges locals face, there’s a pervasive sense of satisfaction and joy. Children play with makeshift toys crafted from cans and whatever they can find—an inspiring mix of resourcefulness and imagination that makes you appreciate life’s simplicity.

Taking a Step Back

Some of you may think I just disappeared from Sydney without notice, but the truth is, I needed this break. 2013 was a whirlwind, and I overcommitted myself. The constant stress started taking its toll—developing anxiety attacks even from simple triggers like a phone ringing. Despite financial success, I realized it was time to draw the line. Self-care had to come first; without me, LLT-Racing wouldn’t exist. This journey is my reset, and I’m optimistic about what 2014 holds for me and LLT.

Reviving the Passion

It’s been ages since I had a project car with an engine. You know the saying: *“The mechanic fixes everyone’s car but their own.”* This time, luck came my way, and I inherited a Mirage. While its current 1.5 SOHC engine isn’t thrilling, I’m excited to start with some cosmetic upgrades—OEM sideskirts, a CJ4A Cyborg lip, and a genuine PIAA foglight kit. For now, I’m just enjoying the process.

Breaking Records

“Surely, you know we have the fastest FWD Mitsubishi naturally aspirated in Australia.”

Our journey to speed started modestly with 14-second runs but evolved into consistent 13.6-second times by the end of 2013. With minimal modifications to suspension and weight, we set a record-breaking 13.68 at Jamboree 2013. Just last week at WSID, our team proved it wasn’t a fluke with flawless runs led by Ivan. Hats off to the crew for their dedication!

Looking Ahead

One day, the LLT demo car will be complete. While I won’t reveal the engine just yet, rest assured, it won’t be another 4G9X or 4G63. With my talented crew full of fresh ideas, 2014 promises to bring exciting new products, bold innovations, and a groundbreaking engine conversion that will leave a mark in the industry. Stay tuned—big things are coming!
